After five years of bold, critically acclaimed productions, The Training Ground is proud to announce auditions for our 2026 Pre-Professional Contemporary Dance Project.

About the Opportunity

✨Join an elite 6-month intensive designed to bridge the gap between studio-based training and tertiary or vocational courses

✨Advanced contemporary training and original choreography

✨Immersive, company-style experience

✨Culminates in a full-length professional production

✨Industry connections and performance pathways

We Are Looking For

– Advanced dancers aged 13+ years

– Strong foundation in contemporary, ballet, and/or technical dance

– Based in ACT or surrounding regions

– Committed and ready for a challenge

THE FOLD plunged audiences into a hypnotic realm where industrial grind meets ethereal grace. This boundary-pushing dance experience shattered conventions and defied expectations—bold, visceral, and unlike anything witnessed before.

From the acclaimed creators who redefined movement with their highly successful productions, came their most audacious vision yet, unraveling the moment where existence creases – where life folds into death, where memory intersects with prophecy, and where the threads of dual realities become hopelessly entangled.

With a cast of elite dancers from the ACT and surrounding areas, this production showcased the remarkable talent emerging from a rigorous 6-month contemporary dance training program. Bridging the gap between studio-based training and professional dance courses, THE FOLD represented the pinnacle of artistic development—providing dancers with a company-like experience while empowering them to dream beyond boundaries.

These rising stars brought raw intensity and technical brilliance to a story that demanded  both emotional depth and physical virtuosity. Working alongside industry professionals in its creation, this ensemble transformed the factory floor into a mesmerising landscape where movement became memory, and gesture speaks what words cannot.
